Skirting Materials That Matter

The foundation of a quality skirting board lies in the materials — and we don’t cut corners. At SA Skirting, we work exclusively with high-grade timber and engineered wood to ensure durability, smooth finishes, and long-term performance. Our most commonly used materials include:

Saligna – A versatile, fine-grained hardwood with a beautiful pinkish tone and excellent strength.
Meranti – Known for its durability and workability, it comes in various colors and is most commonly found to have red, brown, and grey shades throughout. This makes Meranti ideal for a more natural wooden finish, but should a more uniform colour be required, it takes to staining very well.
Supawood (MDF) – A dense, smooth material perfect for painting. Supawood provides an affordable solution for a clean, modern look and is great for detailed profiles.
Pine – A cost-effective and sustainable softwood option, ideal for staining or painting, with a natural grain that adds charm to any space.

Each board is manufactured with care using precision-cutting machinery, sanded smooth, and available in raw, primed, or painted finishes depending on your project requirements.

Our History

SA Skirting began in 2018 with a simple idea that quickly became essential. As we worked in the flooring and construction space, we saw a need for a reliable supplier of skirting, mouldings, and architraves—someone who truly understood contractors’ daily challenges.

Existing suppliers offered limited options, long lead times, and little flexibility. In response, we assembled the right team, invested in quality materials and machinery, and set our sights on launching in February 2025. With Nicky Mostert as factory manager, we proudly produced our first skirting board on day one. Since then, we’ve grown steadily, delivering custom, high-quality products with speed and care.
